Well we managed to ” open ” the trail this weekend after finally getting some warmer weather . There was still a lot of snow in spots Saturday with some impressive snow drifts. On Saturday I spent 6 hrs on the East side of our trail just cutting trail off the trail. Only made 12 km out of 22 km.
Sunday I did the west side and opened it up but only did 22 km out of 38 km s on that side. A group of people went from a Sunday rude and stopped in and tol…d me the trail is pretty much passable now. So hopefully no more cutting lol . There are still plenty of small tree tops frozen in ice but with the warm temps they should be well exposed by next weekend.
We also added some new caution signs on our trail where we cross over a fire guard road which is currently being used as a logging truck route . Please take note of these as a fully loaded rig can not stop that fast !
So in conclusion the trail is finally open , passable , has some opsacales to avoid , some hazard spots with logging trucks and still some snow.
Ride safe and have fun.
