Designated ORV Trail System

The Woodridge Sandhogs have been working on a proposed designated ORV ( off road vehicle) trail system in the Sandilands Provincial Forest since 2009. Along with our provincial association AtvMB ( all terrain vehicle association of Manitoba) and our partnership with the Mid-Canada, Marine and Power Sports Dealers Association ( MMPDA) our club has been able to secure federal grant monies from the National Trails Coalition ( NTC). This grant is a matching funds program and the following funds will be granted to our club.

– MMPDA contribution of $13,000

– NTC Grant matching funds of $13,000

Given a total of $26,000.00 for trail development in the Sandilands Provincial Forest.

A pilot project has been in the works for several months now in the Sandilands area (with in) 2 RM’s. With the support and partnership of the following groups the trail project is slated to start in 2015

The funding that has been achieved so far will help start to get this trail project off the ground but, as always additional funding is always needed. A project of this size will take additional funding, corporate sponsorship, fundraisers and donations to see it come to a fully functional trail system as done in other provinces. Any contributions that our club can receive will be greatly needed and well appreciated by the ORV community, also benefiting the local communities with increased tourism.
