The current fire rating for the Sandilands are has now moved to Moderate , with the dryer forecast and green up still under way we ask riders to please use caution when riding in the back country. This is difficult time of year as the temperature rise , and the vegetation being so dry fires can occur more easily , the debris on exhaust systems can heat up and fall off on dry grass which can result in a bush fire. Another important note is the ice on many of the lakes has not melted away so aircraft cant not fight fires using water bombers.
