With the spring melt underway and temperatures rising people may not think about fires at this time of year. We do want to remind the public to be aware that fires can happen very quickly as the vegetation on the surface is very dry. With the low snow pack this winter and quick thaw we have seen grass fires in surrounding RM’s and fire bans in other RM’s. When riding out on the trails please be mindful of debris on exhaust systems and do not have any open fires as well , riders should always carry a fire extinguisher , shovel, or axe. Also please check local websites for the area your riding in or check the government website https://www.gov.mb.ca/conservation/fire/ for more details.
Thank you and safe riding.
